Caboolture Aerodrome (YCAB) lies on the northern outskirts of the Brisbane metropolitan area, in the Moreton Bay Regional Council local government area. The aerodrome is uncertified and is a haven for mostly recreational aircraft operations, along with several flying schools (fixed and rotary wing), an active gliding club, the Caboolture Warplane Museum and Caboolture Aero Club.
The Aero Club leases the aerodrome from Moreton Bay Regional Council (which acts as Trustee of the land on behalf of the Queensland Government) and is responsible for safe operations and maintaining the facilities.
Aviation Projects has been engaged by Moreton Bay Regional Council to conduct a review of operations at both Caboolture and its other aerodrome, Redcliffe (YRED). This has involved site visits and meetings with various stakeholders and representative bodies and has revealed that both aerodromes support a very active and engaged general aviation community.
At Aviation Projects, we provide trusted advice about airport planning, development and operations and aerodrome safeguarding. Contact us today.
