Aviation Projects has had the pleasure of engaging with the Australian airports community during our attendance at recent Australian Airports Association (AAA) State Division meetings in Victoria/Tasmania and Western Australia. These meetings facilitate discussions amongst AAA members on the latest technical and operational issues affecting their businesses and airports, while also providing direct access to government agencies and aviation regulators.
Aviation Projects specialist consultant, Syed Rizvi, attended the WA meeting over 10-11 April. Centred on the critical theme of business continuity and emphasising the importance of proactive planning, day 1 of the AAA WA Divisional Meeting focused on networking, relationship-building, and organisational introductions from all participating members.
The afternoon comprised a guided airport tour of Busselton Margaret River Airport, followed by a welcome address from the Mayor of Busselton at City Hall, who highlighted the region’s growing aviation needs and the city’s commitment to supporting future infrastructure and air service development.
Following the Mayor’s welcome address, the meeting moved into the Corporate and Airport Member Updates session, where representatives provided briefings on:
- Their organisation’s current focus areas and key priorities
- Ongoing or upcoming projects
- Challenges faced across operations or compliance
- Opportunities for collaboration with other members.
