Background

Jason is an experienced aviation professional, having worked within the industry for over 20 years. His experience spans multiple facets of public and private sectors of the aviation industry along the eastern seaboard, incorporating both operational and strategic roles.

Jason’s professional experience includes:

  • Airport and Ground Transport Manager – Hamilton Island
  • Operations Manager – Bankstown Airport
  • Operations and Asset Manager – Sunshine Coast Airport
  • General Manager Aviation Regional Airports – Queensland Airports Limited (Townsville, Mount Isa & Longreach)
  • National Manager Aerodromes – Civil Aviation Safety Authority
  • Head of Airports – QantasLink.

A particular career highlight has been Jason’s role in the Part 139 regulatory transition during his time at CASA. This involved the development, education and consultation of the proposed changes and the successful transition of 186 aerodromes to the new rule set at the same time.

Other notable project successes include the design and public consultation of the new Sunshine Coast Airport runway, the development and execution of the 2017-2023 Townsville Master Plan and the work undertaken for the successful commencement of new international services from Townsville Airport to Bali and Port Moresby.
