Chief Designer
Background
Clenia is an experienced aviation professional, possessing extensive knowledge of the aviation, construction and engineering industries.
With an impressive 25 years of experience in aviation, Clenia is an ICAO PANS-OPS Instrument Flight Procedure Designer, with a background in Ramp and Air Traffic Control operations.
Clenia began her aviation career as a Ramp Controller at Ninoy Aquino International Airport, managing ground movement, push backs, and coordination with Manila Tower. She then worked for the CAA Philippines as an En-route Air Traffic Controller assigned to the Manila Area Control Centre.
Clenia's love for design and analytical thinking led her to join the Airspace and Flight Procedures Design team of CAA Philippines. Her early work as Procedure Designer involved development of PBN procedures for Philippine domestic airports, designing TMAs, airspace planning and obstacle assessments.
Clenia's career then brought her to Australia, beginning with the position of Deputy Chief Designer with IDS Australasia, followed by the role of Chief Designer for the next 9 years.
Clenia has worked as Chief Designer with both CASA Australia and CASA Papua New Guinea for regulatory approvals. Her experience as Chief Designer includes Instrument Flight Procedure design to ICAO criteria and State standards (including RNP-AR) in Australia and Papua New Guinea, delivery of procedure design software training courses, feasibility studies of closely located aerodromes (either for existing aerodromes or planning new ones) to ensure PANS-OPS surfaces between IFPs for these aerodromes are separated, and much in between to ensure FPDO operations are in full compliance with ICAO and State regulations.
Prior to her career in the aviation industry, Clenia worked as a Civil Engineer, with experience in both horizontal and vertical construction. A notable achievement was her position on the consulting team servicing the Calamba-Oroquita road network project, one of the Asian Development Bank assisted road rehabilitation projects in the Philippines. Clenia has also worked as a Project Engineer constructing commercial buildings in the Philippines.
Clenia's wealth of knowledge in the aviation, construction and engineering sectors provides a cohesive understanding of the overall planning and development of aviation facilities to their full potential.
