Operations Manager
Background
Angela has experience in the areas of regulatory compliance, safety and auditing, airfield operations, business development and high-level stakeholder engagement, across defence and government agencies at a local, state, and federal level.
Angela started her aviation and airport management career 30 years ago in 1992 while owning and operating a large Brisbane-based skydiving business. Angela learned the importance of airport development early on, as developing a Sport Aviation Airpark (ALA) became a necessity to successfully operating her business. The airpark was situated within a military control zone, which on paper, made the Airpark approval look impossible… but she made it happen through high-level stakeholder engagement.
Angela has worked closely with local council, state government, defence, air traffic control and local community members to negotiate the business’ development, resulting in the successful approval of her development application.
In 2012, Angela moved on to her aviation consulting career where she provided specific advice on Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS). In the past 10 years, Angela has worked in various roles across a variety of organisations, however, all roads have led her back to aviation and airports - working with the likes of Boeing, Airservices Australia, Ballina/Byron Gateway Airport, Queensland Government Air Wing and Toll Helicopters.
Angela advocates for industry inclusion and diversity by being a ‘women in aviation’ leader, and role model to young women looking to pursue a career in aviation.
